‘Reason’s Sympathy’ and its Foundations in Productive Imagination

Abstract This paper argues that Kant endorses a distinction between rational and natural sympathy, it presents an interpretation of sympathy as power voluntary posteriori productive imagination. In we draw on the imagination’s powers (a) to subjectively unify contents intuition, in order imaginatively put ourselves others’ places, (b) associate imagined intuitional with concepts others use convey their feelings, such way those prompt feelings us are like feelings.
